The 10 Year Old White Port Quinta da Gaivosa is a field blend. This is the new 2016 bottling (lot number LW10.03) with 87 grams per liter of residual sugar. This, in its new incarnation, remains right on track, burnished and elegant. With some darker nuances on opening and a touch of brandy, this ultimately finishes well. It is on the drier side, but with a bit of a sweet edge that makes it gentle and easy to handle notwithstanding some bite on the finish. The alcohol does pop up here and there, but it is a classy 10 Year Porto with hints of richness.
